Technical description

The Project site features relatively low water depths (3.5-17 m - below Lowest Astronomical Tide), good wind resource and suitable seabed conditions making the site ideal for an offshore wind farm. Based on the existing studies, the wind predominantly comes from W–SW, with an average wind speed of 9.2 m/s.

An offshore inter-array network will connect the electricity from each turbine and feed it to a new offshore substation located within the Project site. An offshore three-core submarine cable will then run approximately 20 km to land along the coast between Prestatyn and Rhyl in Denbighshire on the Ffrith Beach to where the Rhyl Golf Links is located.
